    'Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe', exclusive to the Gallery of Modern Art, is Australia's first major Marvel exhibition and the largest ever presented in an art museum.

    The exhibition will give significant focus to the Marvel comic artists, and the development teams who translate the drawn narrative to the screen through production design and storyboarding, costume and prop design, special effects and post-production.

  • Bridge to Brisbane

    Those who love to run for a good cause, or those who enjoy watching others obtain their goals adore this annual running event in Brisbane. It began in 1997 with approximately 30,000 participants finishing a 10 kilometer race course for charity, and it was such a success that it has been held every year since.

    Nowadays, the race itself is very different with various new challenges and longer distances, but it continues to raise a large amount of money for charity every year in August. Feel free to join the race and win some cool prizes, or stand by and cheer on the runners. After the event, the runners chill out at the Brisbane Showgrounds where they can watch their friends cross the finish line.

  • Royal Queensland Exhibition Show (EKKA)

    Also called EKKA, the Royal Queensland Exhibition is an annual August event that brings everyone together for 10 days of fun, festivities, competitions and excitement. Attendees can visit with over 10,000 animals, snack on tasty carnival treats, listen to live music and experience thrills with adrenaline-pumping carnival rides. Located at the RNA Showgrounds in Bowen Hills, EKKA also features an 'Animal Nursery' that dates back to 1964.

    Enjoy cultural traditions and a variety of competitions with international judges from as far as Europe, South Africa and the United States. Competition categories usually fall under cakes, cattle, ducks, cheese, dance and music.
